Minnesota Twins vs Kansas City Royals Match Preview and Free Picks
The Kansas City Royals are saddled with the worst record in the majors as they resume play after the All-Star break by hosting the Minnesota Twins on Friday. The 2015 World Series champions are an abysmal 27-68 as they enter the opener of a three-game set with the Twins.
Kansas City lost 13 of its final 15 games prior to the break and one of the two victories during the stretch occurred in a road contest against the Twins on July 10. All-Star catcher Salvador Perez is batting just .221 but he finished play prior to the break by going 8-for-26 with two homers, and seven RBIs during a six-game hitting streak.
Minnesota was on a tear before the stoppage by winning nine of 11 games and scoring 10 or more runs on three occasions. Second baseman Brian Dozier has four homers and 13 RBIs over the past eight games and he is being mentioned in trade rumors with the Twins 7 1/2 games behind the Cleveland Indians in the American League Central.
